I Love How You Love Me by Bella Andre
There are authors in every devoted reader’s world where the moment a new book is announced you eagerly anticipate preordering the next novel. Bella Andre and her Sullivan series is one great example of that. I found this author and series last July with “The Look of Love” the first book in the Sullivan series and was quickly hooked. Since the series actually began being released in 2012 I had some catching up to do. Not that I am complaining. 🙂 By October I was searching for more of her books, on Audible, my primary and preferred reading method. Nearly everything I have read of hers makes me want to reach for more.
As soon as “I Love How You Love Me” became available for preorder I put it in my library. This week the novel came out while I was mid series listening to another favorite author, Kathleen Brooks. Normally I wait until I am finished with a series before I start with another and then usually back at the beginning of the series but I decided not to wait and as soon as Pierce and Tammy’s love story finished in my ears I downloaded the novel to get started.
As you read my blog you will learn a bit about my preferences, I try to stick to books that are on Audible and are at least close to eight hours (or more J) or one work day minimum. I do this to try and help my book budget and well written stories take time to flesh out. This novel is just under that time frame at 7.5 hours but even her shorter stories are on my instant buy list at this point. The reader can make or break a story and Eva Kaminsky, Ms. Andre’s regular reader does a wonderful job at bringing the characters to life.
This is the story of Sullivan brother Dylan, well known boat builder, and Grace, the single mom and journalist. Dylan, after seeing his brothers and sisters fall head over heels quickly and with true love in spite of circumstances immediately embraces Grace and her son in his life. Grace is more timid with her heart after being hurt. Watching their love blossom through Bella Andre’s words and Eva Kaminsky’s voice makes my heart swell. Near the end I can see the beginnings of the next novel about Adam, the last of the Seattle Sullivan’s – I can’t wait to see what happens when he too falls in love.
Publisher’s Summary
Dylan Sullivan, a renowned boat builder, has spent his entire life sailing around the world. But while he’s always enjoyed the freedom of the ocean, when Grace Adrian shows up at his Seattle boathouse to interview him for a magazine, it’s love at first sight. Love for both Grace and her ten-month-old son, Mason, with whom Dylan has an immediate bond. And every moment they spend together makes Dylan more and more certain that a love like theirs is worth risking everything for.
A year and a half ago, Grace’s entire world turned upside down. Not only did she learn that she was pregnant, she also found out that she was nothing but a dirty little secret to her boyfriend and his elite Washington D.C. family. Since then, Grace has been rebuilding her life in Seattle, giving one hundred percent of her attention to her son and her freelance writing career. Believing she can never risk her heart—or her son’s—again, especially to a man like Dylan who could sail away at any moment, Grace tries desperately to guard her heart from the charismatic and sexy sailor.
For as sweet and protective as Dylan is during the day, at night when one incredibly hot kiss turns into so much more, Grace simply can’t find a way to keep from tumbling into his arms again and again. But can she ever learn to trust in love again and let him all the way into her heart?
I Love How You Love Me is the newest book in Bella Andre’s New York Times and USA Today #1 bestselling series about The Sullivans.
