Primeval Lake is a place I would love an invitation to. It is a place of freedom, a place of dreams, of playtime, dominance and submission. Though a bit to the extreme – multiple extreme orgasms she is unable to control for over a decade no matter the situation (church/grocery store) for our heroine and sexual excesses to a fantastic level – this is an invitation many I know would love to have.
Julia is thrown into the mix when her grandfather dies and in order to receive her inheritance she has to live at the lake in his cabin for one year. Alex is the clearly extremely wealthy owner of his own version of a mini town ala Marquis de Sade.
The author has either done some serious time interviewing a great many people and investing time and energy into seeing clubs, learning about contracts and toys or has actually lived in the BDSM lifestyle. I’d be inclined to say the latter. The feel of the toys, what to use when, how they can make you feel, how voyeurism works in a dungeon, even what a dungeon monitor does (though the author doesn’t call them this) are all things you learn over time in a living, breathing BDSM community.
My favorite part is when Julia asks what it feels like to be a submissive because it is very true. When you have already done the negotiations, have built the trust that your dominant will never let anything bad happen to you, that he/she desires the absolute best for you – you can relax. You don’t have to be in control – He is. You don’t have to worry – He is protecting and taking care of you. Nothing will happen to you because you have ultimate control – you can always say your safe word or call “Red” and whatever was going on ends. There is no greater power than handing over yours and trusting your wellbeing to another – because without submission there is no dominance just domineering.
Does this place exist…. or could someone build one and invite me? Bottom willing to move!
