Destroyer Angel by Nevada Barr
Welcome back to the world of Anna Pigeon where murder and mayhem are around every corner with a hint of mayhem and madness thrown in for good measure. Nevada Barr has the knack for creating strong female characters, putting them in interesting situations with a twist to see what happens. I’m nearly always pleased with her books and this was no exception to that rule. Anna is back with Heath and Elizabeth from Hard Truth the thirteenth novel in the Anna Pigeon series.
Anna, a middle aged park ranger, on vacation with friends sets out to save her friends when kidnappers take over their camp while she is out exploring. As a federal law enforcement officer ie park ranger and wife of a minister I imagine the hard decisions she constantly has to make would be even harder than for the usual person.
Ms Barr always creates fascinating characters and settings designed to get your heart pumping. It is always interesting to see what twist of fate will set Anna on the path to danger and murder mysteries. Though I would never wish frequent murders and constant mysteries – I love this series and preordered this novel as soon as it was available because of following the series, knowing little about it. I have no hesitation whatsoever recommending this author and series strongly to anyone who loves a good heart racing mystery.
