Bodyguard Reunion by Margaret Daley

It has been awhile since I have read Love Inspired inspirational romances. The Guardians, Inc., series is an interesting one focused around female bodyguards. So often women in romance novels put the women in the weaker role – Chloe is not a weak woman by any stretch. She shows through the book that she can put her feelings aside and do the job, protecting someone whether that means finding a way out of a situation, shooting a snake, dealing with difficult people they have to protect.

Another thing I really like is that the author does not just write as if God’s grace and protection does not limit life’s consequences. God loves you – yes. God will never leave you – yes. God forgives you – yes. If you do something in life – anything – right or wrong you have to deal with the consequences. Consequences could mean anything from breaking the law, making a choice about a job or family – everything in life has consequences of some kind.

Love and trust are very much interconnected. I really like how this author shows the rebuilding of trust and the learning to trust love and commitment through the two main couples in this book. TJ and Chloe learn to have each other’s back once more as they protect Mary and Paul. So many times Christian writer’s act like if you love God that solves everything – it is nice to see characters deal with adversity instead of skating through life.
